♦ Publication Policy
- Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ) does not charge any fee to the authors. And no fee is paid to the authors for the articles published in the journal.
- Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ): It is an international journal published to publish qualified scientific articles in the fields of Fine Arts such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, graphics, ceramics, glass, music, performing arts, photography, traditional arts, fashion design, industrial design, interior architecture, contemporary art history and fine arts education.
- Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ) takes care to protect the ownership and copyright of each published article and to keep a record of each copy.
- The manuscripts submitted to the journal are evaluated scientifically by the Referee Board by double-blinding method after being passed through the editorial process in terms of purpose, scope, method and writing principles.
- For the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others, permission must be obtained from their owners and this must be stated in the article (with reference).
- As a result of the analysis of the article with iThenticate similarity programmes, the total similarity level should not exceed 15%.
- Articles submitted for publication should not be in violation of scientific publication ethics (plagiarism, forgery, distortion, republication, slicing, unfair authorship, not specifying the supporting organisation, not complying with ethical rules in animal studies, etc.).
- Articles submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or submitted for publication.
- Only those who contribute to the relevant study should be considered as authors.
- Reviewers should consult the Editor regarding the evaluation process in case of any doubt regarding conflict of interest. In order to prevent conflict of interest, persons working in the same institution with the authors of the manuscript are not selected as referees.
♦ Ethical Approval
Due to the rules regarding ethical approval(s) implemented by TR Index in 2020, the ethical approval document obtained from the ethics committee must be attached to the article application. No action is required for researches that do not need an Ethics Committee Approval document.
♦ Ethical Principles and Duties for Editors
The principles and duties of the editors of Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ):
1. To evaluate the content of the submitted article and examine whether it is a study that requires ‘ethical approval’,
2. To check that the documents are complete for studies requiring ‘Ethical Approval’,
3. To check the similarity level of the submitted articles,
4. Taking the article to the evaluation stage or appointing an editor after the similarity check,
5. To appoint at least two referees for the articles,
6. To appoint referees appropriate to the subject area of the article in the referee assignment process,
7. To observe diversity in the institutional distribution of referees in the referee appointment process,
8. To follow the notifications of ethical violations from the referees, if there is no notification of ethical violations, to execute one of the ‘Rejection’, ‘Revision’ or ‘Acceptance’ decisions according to the referee reports,
9. Assigning the manuscript to the third referee when there is a ‘Rejection’ and a ‘Revision/Acceptance’ recommendation from the referees,
10. In case a third referee is appointed, to execute one of the ‘Rejection’, ‘Revision’ or ‘Acceptance’ decisions according to the evaluation of this referee,
11. To follow the layout, language editing and doi assignment of accepted articles,
12. To publish the final version of accepted articles in an appropriate issue.
♦ Ethical Principles and Duties for Reviewers
The principles and duties of the reviewers in Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ):
1. To review the assigned article for relevance to their area of expertise,
2. To notify the relevant editor if any ethical violation is detected in the manuscript accepted as a referee,
3. To evaluate the article accepted as a referee in terms of its originality and contribution to the field,
4. To provide suggestions that will contribute to the development and quality of the article accepted as a referee,
5. To elaborate on the theoretical structure and methodological approach in terms of the development of the article accepted as a referee,
6. To indicate his/her final recommendation on the manuscript he/she has accepted as a referee as one of the options ‘Rejection’, ‘Minor Revision’, ‘Major Revision’ or ‘Acceptance’,
7. To submit all evaluations and final suggestions regarding the article accepted as a referee on the ‘Referee Evaluation Form’ to the relevant editor.
♦ Ethical Principles and Duties for Authors
The principles and duties of authors who will publish in Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ):
1. To review the ‘Ethical Principles and Publication Policy’ section before submitting an article,
2. To prepare their articles in accordance with the ‘Writing Rules’ criteria,
3. To check for similarity before submitting their articles,
4. To upload the documents requested by the journal during article uploading.
5. If Ethical Approval is required for the study in their articles, upload the Ethical Approval documents mentioned above together with their articles,
6. If Ethical Approval is not required for the study in their articles, to state this in the article and in the note to the editor with the justification,
7. To prepare and upload their articles in accordance with the template requested by the journal.
8. Indicate in the relevant sections of the article whether the articles have been presented in a scientific activity before, if it is produced from a thesis, information on this subject, the people they would like to thank, if any, and the sources of funding, if any.
9. In case of a revision decision, to make the necessary updates in line with the suggestions from the referees,
10. In case of a revision decision, to process the actions and responses to the referees' suggestions in a separate document,
11. In case of ‘acceptance’ decision, final reading of the articles, indicating the necessary corrections and approving the publication,
12. To report the detection of an ethical violation to the relevant editor, even after publication.
♦ Copyright Notification
- The copyright of the articles published in Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ) belongs to the journal. For this reason, authors accept the copyright transfer option before submitting an article to the journal. All data and published works on this site are copyrighted by Made By Artist Journal (MBAJ). Articles published in Made By Artist Journal must comply with Research and Publication Ethics. Plagiarism, dividing publications, repetition of publications, etc. in cases of ethical violations. Necessary legal actions will be taken in ethical violations.
